Our last beach getaway took us to Sandy Cape, about 250 km north of the metropolitan area. For the first time we took our dog Bronson, normally we leave him with friends because a lot of national parks don’t allow dogs. Bronson had a ball (excuse the pun!). He loves the beach anyway and did lots of digging, swimming and chasing the ball to tire himself out. Continue reading
We had been left with a dead area of grass in the backyard where Jesse’s trampoline had been. Bronson had taken to digging it out and using it as a daybed and over all it was making the rest of the garden look unsightly. Continue reading
Jesse loves any kind of project that involves time with dad. The ultimate big air ball tower is a mammoth K’nex monolith that stands taller than our Peanut. With several working parts and quite a bit of fine tuning, it took several weeks chipping away at the instructions. Continue reading

We’ve talked about it. We’ve to’ed and fro’ed about it. Making the decision to renovate/remodel (Question: when is it renovation and when is it remodeling? Does someone have a definition?) has been scary because it’s not that we don’t love our house. We do. It’s not that it’s old and worn out. It’s 7 years young so it’s a spring chicken amongst buildings. It’s just that we built it, we decorated it and we lived in it – but we never quite finished it off. Continue reading
